Glimpse of the Gila from the CDT

After camping at City of Rocks and knowing the Gila to still be on fire, and closed in some areas, we chose a stroll on the Continental Divide Trail. The Gila is a dessert wilderness and therefore dry. However, we are in a drought, so I'm not sure it always looks this brown.

With a few friends and an old Toyota we were off to camp at City of Rocks and venture into the Gila for 2011 Memorial Day weekend. These aren't good pics, but in an attempt at early recruiting for a Boston reunion in New Mexico, I must make an effort to document some of my adventures, even though I'm pretty sure few people read this blog.
